What Makes a Good Trade Up Collection?
A good trade up collection has three characteristics. First, it should have cheap skins at the input rarity tier so your total input cost is low. Second, it should have at least one high-value skin at the output rarity tier. Third, it should have few outcomes at the output tier so your probability of hitting the valuable skin is maximized.
The ideal scenario is a collection with many cheap skins at one tier and a single, very expensive skin at the next tier. This creates a near-guaranteed profitable trade up when the output value significantly exceeds the total input cost.
